2013 has seen a massive increase in social media activity by both individuals and businesses, with some unbelievable statistics such as –
• Every second 2 new members join LinkedIn
• 53% of people on Twitter recommend products in their Tweets
• 189 million of Facebook’s users are ‘mobile only’
With the above stats in mind, marketers should be evaluating and re-evaluating their social media strategy to ensure they are reaching as many of their customers and target audience as possible. There is nothing more frustrating, and believe us we know, that when trying to contact or interact with a company via social media and not receiving any feedback. It can and most likely will leave a bad impression on your company and brand if you have a Twitter account and/or Facebook page that has users trying to interact with you with no response. Users are using social media as a way of communicating with businesses in the way they would previously by means of email or phone and expecting a quick response, however now the communication is publicly visible.
A “bad” tweet about your company can soon be re-tweeted by hundreds and thousands of users, so prevent that from happening and keep the conversation going with your customers and make them happy.
